At least 48 hours’ notice is required to cancel or reschedule a lesson
Cancellations made with such notice are eligible for a full refund
Cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice, or failure to attend, are non-refundable
If you are unable to attend due to illness, a free reschedule may be offered with a valid doctor’s note
If I need to cancel a lesson for any reason, you will receive a full refund
Lessons will end at the scheduled time, even if you arrive late
Please arrive on time to get the most out of your session
Lesson lengths refer to the overall allocated session time rather than uninterrupted hands-on tuition time
Sessions may end up to 5 minutes early to allow for student changeovers, wrap-up, and studio access management
In-person lessons take place in a studio environment
Online lessons are delivered via Google Meet. The Beginner's course and CDJ practice sessions are not available online.
All equipment is provided for in-person lessons
Lessons are available for students aged 16 and above
Students are expected to behave respectfully during lessons
I reserve the right to end a lesson without refund if behaviour is abusive, threatening, discriminatory, sexually inappropriate or otherwise inappropriate
You may be held responsible for any damage caused to equipment during your lesson
I provide guidance, structure, and support - however, results are not guaranteed
Progress depends on your own practice and effort outside of lessons
Students participate at their own risk
A safe learning environment is always provided, but I am not liable for injury except where required by law
Online lessons are delivered exclusively via Google Meet.
To achieve the best possible learning experience, the ideal setup is for students to:
Share your controller software (e.g. Rekordbox) screen throughout the lesson, if using a controller.
Route the master output from your DJ gear directly into the Google Meet call, allowing me to hear your mix clearly.
Use a separate microphone so we can communicate whilst I listen to your DJ audio.
Use a webcam, where possible, positioned so I can see your controller and its operation when relevant.
I appreciate that every student's equipment and technical knowledge is different. Students are therefore welcome to attend online lessons using whatever setup they have available, and a full technical setup is not required.
Lessons can still be effective without the ideal setup and may focus on demonstrations, workflow, music selection, Rekordbox, track preparation, performance techniques, theory and general DJ development.
However, the further your setup differs from the ideal described above, the more limited my ability may be to assess your performance and provide detailed technical feedback. In particular, where I cannot clearly hear your DJ output or see your Rekordbox screen, I may be unable to accurately assess beatmatching, phrasing, EQ, transitions, timing or overall mixing performance.
While I aim to provide an online learning experience that is as close as reasonably possible to an in-person lesson, certain features or benefits described (such as in my advertising, website or promotional material) may not be available or achievable during online lessons due to the limitations of remote tuition or the student's technical setup.
Online lessons are for single and bundle lesson bookings only, and are not available for the Beginner's Course.
Students are responsible for ensuring their own equipment, software and internet connection are functioning before the lesson. Due to the wide variety of computers, operating systems and DJ hardware available, I cannot provide technical support or guarantee compatibility for individual setups.
I will use reasonable skill and care to deliver high-quality online tuition. However, lesson quality may be affected by factors outside my reasonable control, including internet connectivity, software or hardware compatibility, audio quality, latency and the performance of third-party platforms.
If a technical issue on my end prevents the lesson from continuing for more than five (5) minutes, you may either:
Continue the lesson once the connection has been restored; or
Reschedule the remaining lesson time at no additional cost. Where the remaining lesson time is rescheduled, I will add an additional 15 minutes as a goodwill gesture, up to a maximum total lesson duration equal to the original booking.
If you join an online lesson late, the lesson will still end at the scheduled finish time.
Students must participate from a safe and suitable environment and must not attend lessons whilst driving, cycling, operating machinery or engaging in any activity that may compromise safety or prevent effective participation.
I reserve the right to suspend or end an online lesson without refund where a student's behaviour or environment is unsafe, excessively disruptive or otherwise prevents the lesson from being delivered effectively.
Online lessons may be recorded and a copy may be provided for your personal educational use.
All such sessions take place at KSL
The Beginner's Course includes two (2) CDJ practice sessions at no additional cost
CDJ practice sessions are otherwise available only in conjunction with single-session bookings for an additional fee of £20 per hour, subject to availability
CDJ practice sessions are not available for online lessons.
